2. Tawau
Tawau Hills Park
Location: Taman Bukit Tawau, Tawau, Sabah
Operation hour: everyday 8am – 4.30pm
Taman Bukit Tawau is a natural attraction consisting of 5 main rivers namely Sungai Tawau, Sungai Merotai, Sungai Kinabutan, Sungai Mantri and Sungai Balung. In total, the park has an area of 27,972 hectares.
Attractions are such as the tallest tropical forest trees in the world reaching almost 90 meters, waterfalls (Table Waterfalls and Bukit Gelas Waterfalls), botanical gardens and hot springs.
Activity here mostly jungle tracking, river bathing and sight-seeing. There are also accommodation available here so you can stay.
3. Semporna
Semporna, in Malay means “sempurna” or “perfect”. The region is never impacted by typhoons or earthquakes, because of its favourable landscape and also protected from monsoon wind, so you can visit here anytime. Just prepare more money ‘cause you will spend lots here, but it worth it.
Sipadan Island
Sipadan is recognised as the best diving in the Malaysia and amongst the best in the world. This tropical island off the south east coast of Sabah is well known for its stunning underwater scenery and large numbers of marine species. Scuba diving in Sipadan is year round with the best time being between April and December.
