3. Semporna

Semporna, in Malay means “sempurna” or “perfect”. The region is never impacted by typhoons or earthquakes, because of its favourable landscape and also protected from monsoon wind, so you can visit here anytime. Just prepare more money ‘cause you will spend lots here, but it worth it.

Sipadan Island

Sipadan is recognised as the best diving in the Malaysia and amongst the best in the world. This tropical island off the south east coast of Sabah is well known for its stunning underwater scenery and large numbers of marine species. Scuba diving in Sipadan is year round with the best time being between April and December.

Sibuan Island

Pulau Sibuan is part of Marine Park Dunsa Karan and is named after a warship. The island is an uninhabited island with a lush ecosystem and spectacular scenery that is well preserved. Boating, fishing, playing or sunbathing was fun. Huge coral reefs with a variety of colourful fish occur in these waters. Excellent opportunities are snorkelling and swimming.

No accommodation here, but you can stay-in luxury resort nearby, Mataking Island and Pom Pom Island or stay in Semporna town. Dive operators will bring you to Sibuan on daily trips.

Tun Sakaran Marine Park

Paradise for lovers of underwater. Overlooking the entire bay, you can hit the top of the island, stroll through the green virgin woods and take a boat tour of the original water huts on the shore where the Ba Yao people live

No accommodation available but you can stay in the nearby islands that can regularly take visitors to the park. There will be speed boat ride from the islands of Pom Pom and Mataking (20min), Semporna (15min)

4. Ranau

Sungai Moroli Fish Massage

System here, they use ‘tagal’ means ‘no fishing’, and the main purpose of the ‘tagal’ is to preserve the environment as well as the ecosystem to benefit the future generation. Come to Kampung Luanti for regular fish massages and you will enjoy smoother and suppler skin or try other activities such as jungle trekking and camping. Kampung Luanti is also equipped with a homestay programme

Poring Canopy Walkway, the highest in Sabah

Poring Hot Springs, a tropical retreat that caters to everyone. Poring comes from a KadazanDusun word which means bamboo and is found abundant in this area. Poring Canopy Walkway is not for those who have height phobia. The canopy is over 175 Meters long and 41-43 Meters in height, which is higher than a 8-floor building. Next to Poring Hot Springs, the Canopy Walkway of Poring is the 2nd favorite activity of tourists.

Ranau Paragliding Park

Explore the ancient town of Ranau from the top of the sky, and experience in this quaint and scenic part of Sabah the serene views and scenic nature. This would be the ideal chance to experience the breeze if you have always wanted to try paragliding.

 

5. Tamparuli

Kiulu White Water Rafting

Want to do extreme activities with your family? Come to the Kiulu River. Regardless of age or skill level, anyone can participate in rafting activities on this river. You can start exploring this 15 km long river. Categorized as Grade 1 and Grade 2 (security guarantee), there are many rafting operators you can find here. Don’t forget to open your eyes to the wildlife-rich surrounding scenery.

Tamparuli Suspension Bridge

It’s very long bride. A trip over the Tamparuli Suspension Bridge gives you an edgy atmosphere, as you can feel the shakes and sways of the bridge. This could be a fun walk for those who are accustomed to firm land. And this will be an ultimate obstacle for those who have height phobia.

6. Tambunan

Tambunan Rafflesia Reserve

Just 1 hour drive from Kota Kinabalu, you will reach the Tambunan Rafflesia Reserve which offers jungle trekking activities to find rafflesia flowers which are the biggest flowers in the world. However, be prepared to smell a rather unpleasant odor as you approach this flower. Want to know why it is flowery but rotten? This Rafflesia flower emits a foul odor to attract the attention of flies and insects to head towards it.

Crocker Range National Park

Did you know that the largest park in Sabah is the Crocker Range? With its landforms, climate levels, and biodiversity, the park is also incredibly complex. This national park is a ‘must see’ Sabah travel destination for visitors with its misty cliffs, pristine forests and jungle trails and deep valleys.

7. Sandakan

Turtle Island Park

Consisting of three islands, namely Pulau Selingan, Bakungan Kecil and Pulau Gulisan, Turtle Island Park is a haven for karah turtles and are increasingly threatened with extinction in other areas.

If you take the time to look at this attraction, you may have the opportunity to see how turtles lay their eggs or see the atmosphere when a ranger releases an adult turtle into the ocean.

Sepilok Orang Utan Centre

Orangutans are one of the most entertaining animals in the world. If you go to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center, you and your family can see the orangutan baby who is not sitting still moving here and there using ropes and tires hanging everywhere.
However, for safety purposes, visitors can only walk on the space provided and are not allowed to approach these animals. Being able to watch it live is quite satisfying, it’s not easy to meet.

Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre

If you think bears are only in cold areas such as Antarctica and others, it turns out you are wrong, because in the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Center you can approach the sun bears which is also one of the smallest bear species in the world.
Among the facilities provided at the center are an observation deck, a visitor center and a boardwalk. Also, to your knowledge, there are more than 40 sun bears that can be seen here.
Do not miss the opportunity to see these cute animals during their active time from 9.30am to 3.00pm.

8. Lahad datu

Tabin Wildlife Reserve

Covering an area of 300,000 acres, Tabin Wildlife Reserve is the largest wildlife reserve in Malaysia. This tropical rainforest is rich in fauna which includes several endangered species such as the Sumatran rhino. Tabin Wildlife Reserve also has several other attractions such as Mud Volcano where you can bathe in mud to get its nourishment which is said to smooth the skin.

Danum Valley Conservation Area

The Danum Valley is home to so many species of wildlife and these include orangutans, Borneo elephants, Dutch monkeys, and many other endangered species. If it is so tempting in the eyes of foreign production, there are definitely a lot of treasures stored. In this forest exploration expedition, you also have the opportunity to visit the ancient Kadazan-Dusun ethnic burial site.

 

9. Kundasang

Desa Dairy Farm

This Diary farm can be reached by a short road trip to the outskirts of the town. This Diary farm is one of the most visited tourist attraction in Kundasang. The Friesan breed of cow has been used as cattle in this place for milk and other dairy products. Imagine spending time with nature along with the calm creatures moving around the landscape. You can have an awesome breakfast on this farm if you are visiting in the morning.

Sabah Tea Gardens

Looking for a place for rejuvenation in Kundasang? The tranquil landscapes covered with lush green tea gardens sprawling all over the mountains in Sabah will surely offer you the best of relaxations possible. This place is free of admission cost but if you want to understand the tea making process, then you can take the guided factory tour at a cost of RM 14. You can also get to taste the finest of teas that Sabah produces.

Kundasang War Memorial

The Second World War led to a massive loss in terms of lives. This memorial is to honour the Australian and British soldiers who were kept as prisoners of War. Also, a few Bornean nationals lost their lives in this very place trying to help these prisoners of war. This place is surrounded by 4 gardens namely, the Australian garden, the English garden, Borneo Garden and the contemplation garden. There is an entrance fee of RM2 for this attraction.

10. Kota Belud

Polumpung Melangkap View Camp Site

Just before dawn breaks, you wake up and make your way gingerly towards the stream. It’s chilly and frozen in the water. But you’re able to do it because you know the best chance to see Mount Kinabalu from the valley is here. Perhaps you could even get a nice picture or video of the mountain to remember that day.

3. Kudat

Kudat has spectacular snorkelling sites. With a multitude of vivid, colourful coral reefs spread over 4 sites, each with its own special seabed, and a variety of marine life, such as clownfish, rainbow fish, jumping fish, flower jelly fish, and blue starfish. also here you can enjoy the Lighthouse Island and Bioluminescence “Blue Tears”

 

4. Mamutik Island, Kota Kinabalu

Near the rocky beach or the front side of the coral beach are known to be the best spots for snorkelling. A lot of snorkelling and seeing purple coral, Nemo, Damsel fish, Parrot Fish, Baracuda & other species can be enjoyed by tourists. tourits also can enjoy other activities here, scuba diving, jungle trekking and more.

 

5. Manukan Island

It is one of the most popular islands in the region. also the second-largest island in Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park. Due to the attraction of its white sandy beaches and rich hued beaches, Sabah. The waters that swarms with marine life. This is a premier destination for island hopping in Sabah because of the abundance of corals and the availability of water sports.
