1. Freeport A’Famosa Outlet

Location: Jalan Kemus, Simpang Empat, Alor Gajah

Freeport A’Famosa Outlet is the biggest shopping mall in Alor Gajah, housing more than 70 international fashion, sports, and accessories brands at great rates. Located just outside the main entrance of A’Famosa Resort, this open-air outlet village is a pleasant stopover for those travelling to Malacca’s UNESCO World Heritage Site from Kuala Lumpur.
Dining-wise, there’s a Marrybrown fast food outlet, Pappa Rich café, and a foodcourt selling local and international cuisine within the outlet village. You can also find an array of food kiosks, bistros, and hotel restaurants located at the neighbouring A’Famosa Resort and Theme Park.

2. Mahkota Parade Melaka

Mahkota Parade is one of Malacca’s first shopping malls, housing almost 200 stores, including international brands, food-and-beverage outlets and entertainment centres. Opened in 1994, the four-storey shopping mall was recently refurbished to embrace a modern, sleeker look, and with new exciting tenants onboard, it is set to take the shopping scene in Malacca by storm.

Mahkota Parade’s anchor tenants are Giant Hypermarket and Parkson Grand department stores, offering visitors a wide array of fresh groceries, inexpensive clothing and home appliances. 3.Dataran Pahlawan Melaka Megamall

Location: Jalan Merdeka, 75000 Banda Hilir

For a modern shopping experience in the middle of the historical city Malacca, head to Dataran Pahlawan in Banda Hilir. If you’re looking for unique, yet inexpensive souvenirs from Malacca, head to Tan Kim Hock Product Centre in Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho. Located five minutes from the city centre, the product centre is also known as ‘red place’ by the locals, thanks to its massive scarlet building. With over 100 local food products under its roof, this is an immensely popular place for locals and tourists to shop for high-quality bites and goodies.
The food products available in Tan Kim Hock Product Centre are made with raw materials harvested on the company’s estates and processed in their factories, so authenticity is guaranteed.

Tan Kim Hock Product Centre also comes with its own durian cendol stall, right outside the shopping area. Durian cendol is one of Malacca’s celebrated food items and, in the hot Malacca weather, it is practically a saviour.

5. Jonker Street Shopping

Location: Jalan Hang Jebat, Melaka

8. Clay House

Location: 18 Jln Tukang Besi
Operation hour: daily 10am – 6pm (Thursday – Tuesday)

This lovely shop displays a delightful galaxy of perforated pottery tea-light holders, bowls and ornaments, made here by clay craftsman Leong Chee Hsiung. For RM70 he will teach you how to make your own pot and post the finished product back to you in a month’s time.

9. Sixty 3 Heritage

Location: 5, Jalan Hang Kasturi, 75200 Melaka

If you need a figure-hugging qipao (cheongsam), a colourfully patterned Nonya kebaya (blouse), sarong, batik clothing or an elegant man’s shirt, this shop has an eye-catching selection. There are several other branches in town.

10. Giant B

Location: Leboh Ayer Keroh
Operation hour: daily 9am – 6pm

While visiting the Botanical Garden, it’s worth dropping by this showroom for a local bee-breeding and honey-making demonstration. In the showroom, which is surrounded outside by stingless and Italian beehives, you can learn all about bees and sample various delicious honeys before you buy.
