Cheap, tasty, and filling, Roti Canai is the staple go-to breakfast of any people in Malaysia! If you’re in Johor, the word on the street is Bukit Cagar. The greatest example of this flatbread will serve you. The dough itself, unlike the larger chain restaurants, is hand-made fresh at the stall every day, flipped and stretched to the ideal round size and thickness, the dough is then cooked on a flat until nicely browned with a crunchy outer layer, but still soft inside.

 

 

2. Warung Saga

Location: 5, Jalan Mahmoodiah, Kampung Mahmoddiah, 80100 Johor Bahru, Johor
Operation hour: 7am–1pm | closed on Friday

Try this traditional local food name, Lontong. Lontong is condensed rice covered in a banana leaf shell, then cut into pieces to eat with a watery base made from veggies in coconut milk called Lodeh. While the dish is vegetarian, it can also be eaten with a variety of meats, such as salted fish, beef floss or spicy shrimp paste.
